Two applying trines and sextiles between the traditional planets, both softened by reception, carry the day. The Sun in Libra sextiles Jupiter in Leo, and Jupiter is in the Sun's own sign, received cleanly. Mars in Leo trines Saturn in Aries, and Saturn is likewise received by Mars. Two benefic-flavored contacts where the slower planet is a guest in the faster planet's house. That's a quietly cooperative sky, more cooperative than the dignity table alone would predict: Sun in fall, Saturn in fall, Venus retrograde in detriment. The receptions are doing a lot of the work.

The Sun-Saturn exaltation reception deserves a second look. Each sits in the other's place of exaltation, which means Libra's weighing and Aries's cutting are speaking to one another with unusual courtesy. Decisions made under this configuration tend to hold. Not easy decisions, necessarily, but structurally sound ones. Mercury in Scorpio on Zubenelgenubi is where I'd expect the hard terms to appear: a reckoning number, a figure someone has been avoiding. The star doesn't soften with reception. It just presents the bill.

Venus retrograde in Scorpio continues to be the slow weather underneath all of this. I keep wanting to fold it into the daily reading and it keeps resisting. It is its own months-long process and today isn't a turning point in it.

The Moon is in Scorpio, in fall, in the Room mansion, separating from a square to Jupiter. Domestic matters and negotiations are mansion-favored, but the Moon's weakness and the just-passed square suggest the morning carried some overreach or overstatement that the afternoon has to walk back. By evening the Moon's contact with Agena lends a sober dignity to whatever remains.

A new Moon is building. Not today's business, but worth noting that the Libra solar season is closing its own books before Scorpio takes the lunation.
