Mercury has just passed over retrograde Venus in Scorpio, close enough that the two still feel like one voice: a conversation that keeps returning to the same wound, the same person, the same unfinished sentence. Venus is in detriment here and walking backward on top of it, so whatever Mercury helps her articulate will come out barbed or oblique. Useful for private writing, forensic thinking, the long overdue message. Less useful for charm.

Against this, the Sun opposes retrograde Saturn across the Libra–Aries axis, both planets in fall, but, and this is the part worth sitting with, each in the sign of the other's exaltation. Reception by exaltation is a real courtesy. It means the opposition argues rather than severs. Authority and self are at odds today, but they recognize each other's standing. I'd normally call a Sun-Saturn opposition in double fall a grim configuration; the reception complicates that enough that I won't.

Mars in Leo is the livelier story. Exactly sextile Uranus, separating from an opposition to Pluto: the clever move has already been made, or the fight has already happened, and what remains is the aftertaste of having pushed through something heavy with an unexpectedly deft hand. Mars is also near the South Node, which I note and set down.

The Moon ingressed Virgo in the small hours and sits in the Bow mansion, traditionally a mansion of feasting and reward. An odd pairing with Virgo's analytic sobriety, and odder still under a waning crescent at 11% light. The banquet is small, or private, or interior.

Neptune squares Lilith in the background and will for weeks; I'll come back to it when it matters more. For today, the shape is: a sharp Scorpio conversation, a dignified argument with authority, and a Virgo moon keeping a quiet feast.
