The headline today is a quarrel between Mercury and Mars, exact to a tenth of a degree and already separating. Mercury in Scorpio is received by Mars in domicile, which is the only thing keeping this from being genuinely nasty: Mars is willing to host the conversation even while squaring it. Expect a sharp exchange that lands cleaner than it sounds. Mercury then catches a square to retrograde Pluto on the way out, which extends the mood of the morning by another day or so, less heat, more suspicion.

Mars itself is winding into opposition with Pluto across the Leo-Aquarius axis, applying over the next week. Pair that with the Sun opposing retrograde Saturn, and you have two oppositions building at once. The Sun-Saturn piece is the more interesting of them, because Sun in Libra is in fall and Saturn in Aries is in fall, but they sit in mutual reception by exaltation, each lodged in the other's seat of honor. That reception is doing most of the work. The weakness is real; the cooperation is also real. These two will negotiate.

Venus, meanwhile, is standing still in her detriment, within a day or so of station. I'd pay closer attention to that than to today's squares, honestly. A stationary planet in a sign where she cannot act freely is where the week's slower pressure sits.

Mars trine Neptune is separating and faint, I'd barely mention it except that it takes some of the edge off the Mars-Pluto build.

The Moon is in Gemini in the Beak mansion, swift and gathering, moving into Cancer late in the UTC day. Beak suits the Mercury-Mars square, actually: quick strikes, errands run before weather turns. I'll leave the background Neptune-Pluto sextile where it belongs, in the background.

Two oppositions tightening, one reception holding, one Venus about to turn.
