Planetary Positions · Noon UTC
Mars has just entered Leo and immediately picks a fight with Pluto across the Leo-Aquarius axis, applying opposition, still eight days out but already audible. That's the day's real weather. What complicates it, and improves it, is the trine Mars is simultaneously making to Neptune in Aries: force meeting dissolution at the same moment it meets entrenchment. You can push, but what you're pushing against and what gives way may not be the same object.
Mercury, nearly out of Libra, trines the North Node, a light and separating aspect, the sort of contact where a conversation from yesterday turns out to have been the useful one. The Sun in Libra is in fall, but rescued considerably by its exaltation-reception with Saturn in Aries, who is himself in fall and rescued by the same exchange. Two weakened planets propping each other up is not nothing. It is, in fact, how a great deal of adult life gets done. The Sun also trines Uranus, separating, and opposes Neptune more widely, so clarity and fog are both on offer depending on which way you turn your head.
I want to revise something. I called the Mars-Pluto the headline, and it is, but the Moon exalted in Taurus, full and in the Stomach mansion, is doing quiet governing work underneath all of it. Storage, preservation, the slow accumulating kind of strength. A full Moon at exaltation in a mansion of granaries is the sort of configuration I'd normally build a whole column around. Today it just sits there being competent while Mars makes noise.
The South Node sits on Regulus, within a degree. Royal fall, the classical warning: something at the top of its arc that shouldn't mistake altitude for permanence. Whose arc, the chart doesn't say.
Neptune and Pluto continue their long sextile in the background. Noted.
