Planetary Positions · Noon UTC
The headline today is Mars square Saturn, though it is a headline already walking out the door. The aspect separates by nearly three degrees, and Saturn, in fall in Aries, sits in Mars's domicile: received, if awkwardly. That reception genuinely softens things. Mars in Cancer is nobody's idea of a competent soldier either, so what you have is two weakened planets in a fading square, with the stronger structural tie being that Mars is willing to host Saturn's difficulty. Frustration that has already peaked, in other words, and is now looking for somewhere to sit down.
The Moon spends the morning in late Gemini on Betelgeuse, the Hunter's shoulder, in the Triplicity mansion, which the tradition ties to martial matters and the defense of boundaries. This dovetails with the separating Mars-Saturn square more elegantly than I would like: a martial star, a martial mansion, a martial aspect winding down. By mid-afternoon UTC the Moon crosses into Cancer and the tone shifts from restless-alert to withdrawn.
Mercury deserves a note. It is combust, and within a degree of Denebola, a star classically associated with reversal through misplaced boldness. But Mercury is also in its own domicile and moving quickly. I would read this as thinking that is sharp in its own house but too close to the Sun to be trusted with final decisions today. Draft, do not send.
Venus in Libra is quietly the best-placed planet in the chart and is doing nothing dramatic, which is often how Venus in domicile works: present, unfussed, available.
The nodal sextile to Lilith is a four-week background hum, and I will not pretend it is doing something specific today. Same for the Neptune-Pluto sextile, which will be near-exact for weeks.
Last Quarter Moon. The month's argument is being reviewed, not launched.
