Planetary Positions · Noon UTC
Mars separating from its square to Saturn is the headline, and it's a softer headline than it looks on paper. Mars in Cancer is in fall — hot-tempered, out of its element, taking things personally — and Saturn retrograde in Aries is likewise weakened, throwing its weight around without the patience to back it up. But Mars receives Saturn by domicile, which means the quarrel happens in Mars's own house, on Mars's terms. Saturn is a guest here, however irritable. The friction is real but the framework holds. Add that Mars sits with Sirius, and whatever's been burning the last few days burns bright — ambition, heat, the sense that something must be done now. Sirius amplifies whatever it touches, for better and worse, and with a fallen Mars I'd read that as intensity outpacing judgment rather than a clean surge of power.
Meanwhile Venus at home in Libra, close to Arcturus, is doing the quiet competent work of the chart — the Bear Watcher's steady navigation, prosperity earned rather than seized. If anything reliable gets done today, it comes through her.
Mercury is combust in his own sign, which is the strange case: full domicile authority, moving fast, but burnt up by proximity to the Sun. Expect thinking that's sharp in structure but hard to see clearly from the outside. Say less than you know.
The Moon crosses into Gemini around midday UTC and enters the Fleece mansion — Pleiades territory, the mansion of severance and grief-tinged clarity. With the Moon exactly on Alcyone, some small ending lands with more weight than its size warrants.
Jupiter trine Saturn continues in the background, and the outer planets are doing their slow sextile-and-trine business, which I'll leave to itself. The day belongs to a cooling Mars, a competent Venus, and a Moon walking into the Sisters.
