Planetary Positions · Noon UTC
The headline today is Venus opposing Saturn, and it's the kind of opposition I want to sit with before saying anything definitive. Venus is at home in Libra, Saturn retrograde and in fall in Aries — so on paper this looks like a strong Venus staring down a compromised Saturn. But Saturn, weakened as he is, still exalts Venus, and he receives her. That reception changes the character considerably. It is still an opposition, still an ask across a distance, still the shape of a hard conversation about commitment, cost, or an aging arrangement. But the receiving planet is not hostile to what she brings. Expect the conversation to be difficult and, at the same time, oddly workable. The sextile from Jupiter, separating now, has already lent something — a piece of goodwill banked earlier in the week.
The Sun, meanwhile, is doing two things at 27° Leo. It's opposing the North Node — pulling on the collective-direction axis — and the South Node itself is combust and sitting almost exactly on Regulus. This is the pride-and-fall configuration the old writers warned about, dressed up in modern nodal language. Somebody very visible is going to overreach today or this week. I would not be surprised to read about it.
Mars in fall in Cancer, just past a square to Neptune, is the quieter trouble — a sense of effort dissolving into mood. I'd leave it there.
The Moon has just crossed into Sagittarius and sits in the Room mansion, which is traditionally auspicious for domestic matters and negotiations. That, plus Venus's reception by Saturn, is where I'd revise my earlier caution: the day is harder in the headlines than in the household. The background Neptune–Pluto sextile continues to hum along; I have nothing new to say about it.
