Mercury trine Saturn ℞ in Aries · Mars square Neptune ℞ in Aries

Today the sky is doing three things at once, and I don't think they resolve into a single mood, so I won't pretend they do.

The clean piece first: Mercury just perfected a trine to Saturn in Aries. Saturn is in fall there, which I'd ordinarily downgrade the aspect for — a debilitated Saturn gives thinner counsel — but Mercury is fast and the reception isn't nothing, so treat this as a good day for finishing writing, closing correspondence, saying the sober thing that needed saying yesterday. Mercury is also under the beams and drifting toward Jupiter, so the mind is a little sun-blind but generous; ideas feel bigger than they are.

Venus is the more interesting story. She's at home in Libra, just perfected a sextile to Jupiter, and is applying to oppose Saturn — an opposition Saturn receives her into his exaltation, which genuinely does soften it. This is the classical case where a hard aspect between benefic and malefic reads more as sober negotiation than as loss. Then there's Vindemiatrix sitting exactly on Venus. The Grape Gatherer's traditional signification is grief attending an ending, and I want to take that seriously without overdramatizing it: something in the realm of partnership, agreement, or aesthetic commitment is ending or being formally acknowledged as ended, and the Saturn reception says it will be handled with more dignity than pain. Earlier I called this a good day for closing correspondence — I'd extend that to closing arrangements.

Mars in fall square Neptune I'll mention and leave: energy leaks, motives unclear, don't force anything physical.
