Mercury and Jupiter meet in Leo today, both under the Sun's beams — a conjunction that ought to feel like a burst of confident speech and generous ideas, but with the Sun this close, the meeting happens behind the curtain. Something is being conceived rather than declared. Mercury is fast, Jupiter unusually fast for Jupiter, so the ideas move, but the world doesn't yet see them. Meanwhile Venus, at home in Libra, throws a sextile toward that same Jupiter and a departing sextile to Mercury — the beams don't prevent Venus from making the introduction. Contracts, aesthetic proposals, invitations extended through a well-placed friend: the shape of the day, if you're paying attention to who's routing what.

Against this, Mars in Cancer squares Neptune in Aries and does so from fall. This is the part I'd flag. Mars in Cancer already can't find its footing; add an applying square to Neptune and you get action that dissolves into mood, effort that turns sentimental, or the peculiar exhaustion of trying to fight fog. Four-day window. Venus is also finishing an opposition to Neptune, which reads on the Venusian side as a lingering disappointment or fantasy in a relationship — but since it's separating, it's the aftertaste, not the event.

The Moon is in Virgo all day, in the Bow mansion — traditionally a mansion of feast and reward, which sits oddly against Virgo's sorting instinct. Take that contradiction as it is. And the lunation itself is a New Moon, tight, in Leo, with the South Node combust and sitting almost exactly on Regulus. That's a striking configuration and I don't want to make too much of a single day's chart, but a royal star burning off at a nodal station is the kind of image that asks you to notice what's being released rather than what's beginning.

The outer planets are humming quietly in the background. They can keep humming.
