Mars opposition Lilith in Sagittarius · Sun conjunction Jupiter in Leo

The headline today is Mars closing to an exact opposition with Lilith, half a degree and applying. Mars is fast and out of dignity in Gemini, Lilith sitting opposite in late Sagittarius — this is the kind of contact that produces sharp exchanges, provocations that feel targeted, arguments that are really about something older than the argument. Venus, already in fall in Virgo, is separating from her own square to Lilith, so the residue of a Venusian grievance is still in the room when Mars picks up the thread. I'd take the two together rather than apart.

The Sun-Jupiter conjunction is technically past exact and Jupiter is combust, which usually I'd read as Jupiter drowned out — but the Sun receives Jupiter by domicile, and that reception genuinely does soften things. Combust-but-received is not combust-and-abandoned. Something generous is happening under the glare rather than being destroyed by it. Worth noting that the South Node sits right on Regulus at the end of Leo, within a third of a degree; whatever is being released on the Leo side of the axis has a royal-star quality to it, the old warning about pride and falling. I don't want to overstate this — the Node has been near Regulus for a while — but with the Sun-Jupiter meeting in Leo behind it, the resonance is loud.

Moon is in Aries in the Wall mansion, good for study and for keeping one's own counsel, trining Jupiter earlier and drifting past Neptune. Saturn retrograde in Aries is in fall nearby, which the Moon will eventually meet; not today, but it colors the sign.
