The Sun has just crossed Jupiter in Leo, and though Jupiter is combust — burned up in the king's presence, effectively silenced as a distinct voice — the Sun receives him by domicile. That reception is doing quiet work. The benefic isn't functioning on his own terms today, but he's being hosted, not annihilated. Expect the day's expansions to arrive wearing solar clothing: authority, display, the confident gesture. Whether that gesture is wise is a separate question.

And it may not be. The Sun opposes Pluto retrograde by three degrees, still within the separating window, and the South Node sits almost exactly on Regulus. That's the classical picture of royal overreach — the fall that follows the pride, or at least the shadow of it hanging over Leo season's opening. I'd take Regulus on the South Node seriously here even more than the Pluto opposition, which is the slower and more diffuse pressure. The sextile to Uranus offers a way out through unexpected pivots, but it's a background support, not a rescue.

The louder event for most people will be Venus square Mars, tight and just separating. Venus is in her fall in Virgo and sits on Denebola — loss through misplaced boldness is the traditional reading, and I don't see a reason to soften it. Mars, meanwhile, is fast and on Bellatrix. He has the tactical advantage. She does not. Arguments today favor the person willing to be sharp; whether that person is correct is again a separate question.

Moon in Aquarius through the Girl mansion, full and sextiling Saturn in his own fall in Aries — a cool, detail-oriented lunar day underneath the solar drama, good for the patient handwork the mansion favors. Saturn debilitated means the discipline available is real but brittle. The rest of the outer-planet trines and sextiles are background weather; I'll leave them to the background.
