Venus square Mars in Gemini · Sun conjunction Jupiter in Leo

The headline today is Venus square Mars, exact within a third of a degree and still applying. Venus is in fall in Virgo — analytical, finicky, wanting things done properly — and Mars is fast in Gemini, sharp-tongued and conjunct Bellatrix, which lends a tactical edge to whatever gets said. Because Venus is the weaker of the two and Mars has the fixed star behind him, expect the argument (romantic, aesthetic, or contractual) to be won by whoever moves first and speaks most precisely. Won, not resolved.

Meanwhile the Sun in Leo — at home, in full command of itself — meets Jupiter within a degree. Jupiter is technically combust, which usually I'd treat as a real weakening, but the Sun receives Jupiter by domicile, and that reception genuinely softens things. It's not the disaster the orb suggests. It's more that Jupiter's contribution is happening inside the Sun's business rather than as its own event. Ambition and generosity fused, for better and worse. And the Sun is still within orb of the opposition to Pluto — separating, but the residue is there, especially with the South Node on Regulus. Pride precipitating a fall is the textbook warning for that configuration, and I'd take it seriously this week even if not today specifically.

Saturn is stationary in Aries, about to turn. I keep wanting to make more of this than the chart warrants — a stationary planet in fall is loud but not necessarily productive. Watch where you've been forcing structure onto something that won't take it.

The Moon is in Capricorn, in detriment, moving through the Dipper mansion — regulation, measurement, officials. A day for paperwork done grudgingly and correctly. The outer trines and sextiles in the background are pleasant enough; I won't pretend they're driving anything.
