Two things are working today, and they aren't quite the same story.

The first is Mars sextile Saturn, separating but still in orb. I'd normally call this the useful aspect of the week — steady application of force, the kind of day for finishing what needs finishing. And Saturn is in Aries, in its fall, which ought to make me nervous, except that Mars receives Saturn into its own domicile. That reception carries most of the weight. Saturn, weakened by sign, gets to lean on Mars for structure. Add that Mars sits on Rigel — the Foot of the Hunter, the star of engineers and those who lift others through competence — and the aspect resolves into something quietly productive. Skilled hands doing careful work.

The second is the Mercury-Saturn square, applying, with Mercury stationary and under the beams. This is the harder note. Mercury is barely moving, about to turn direct, still burned by proximity to the Sun, and now squaring a Saturn that — reception with Mars notwithstanding — is still in fall. Communications and decisions made in this window will feel stuck against something. I'd wait on anything requiring Mercury to be at its best. The station itself argues for waiting; the square just underlines it.

The Moon is in Scorpio, in her fall, in the Root mansion — a mansion traditionally good for foundations and settling in. There's a contradiction in that pairing I don't want to smooth over: the Moon is not comfortable here, but the mansion is asking for exactly the kind of grounded, unglamorous work the Mars-Saturn sextile also favours. So perhaps the Moon's weakness matters less today than it usually would.

Background: Jupiter is still tangled with Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune, and combust besides. I'll leave that season to itself. The foreground is Mars-Saturn by reception, and Mercury stationary against Saturn. Work with the first; wait out the second.
