Mars sextile Saturn in Aries · Mercury ℞ approaching Saturn in Aries

Planetary Positions · Noon UTC

The headline today is a Mars-Saturn sextile just past exact, with Saturn received by Mars in his own sign of Aries. This is the softer face of that pair: Saturn, in fall and generally not enjoying himself in Aries, gets a little dignity loaned to him through the sextile. Mars in Gemini, fast and sitting on Rigel, does something Mars rarely does well — he lends structure without cruelty. If you have practical construction work to do this week, scheduling, building, cutting something to size, this is the aspect to lean on. Rigel's association with engineering and the elevation of subordinates is worth taking literally here.

Working against that, Mercury retrograde in Cancer is applying to square Saturn, and under the beams besides. That square has almost two weeks of runway and it will get worse before it gets better. Conversations about limits, authority, or old commitments are the ones likely to snag. I'd separate the two aspects in your head — the Mars-Saturn is a doing aspect, the Mercury-Saturn is a talking-and-thinking aspect, and they don't cancel.

Venus is in fall in Virgo and I don't want to overstate this, but her testimony is quiet today. She's not receiving much and she's not being received. Reading Venus matters less than usual.

Moon is finishing Libra in the Neck mansion — the classical caution against litigation and confrontation is worth honoring for the few hours it's still there, especially given the separating square to the Sun from the First Quarter. She ingresses Scorpio mid-afternoon UTC.

The nodes are stationary on the Virgo-Pisces axis, with the South Node sitting exactly on Regulus. I'll say only that a royal star on the releasing node is the kind of configuration one notes and watches, without forcing a same-day interpretation onto it.

In the background, Jupiter is still doing its rounds with the outer planets. Combust, though, so muted.
