Venus square Uranus in Gemini

Today's headline is Venus square Uranus, just separating. Venus is in fall in Virgo, which I want to flag before anything else — a Venus already struggling to do her job gets jostled by Uranus in Gemini, and the square has that quality of a decision made a day or two ago whose aftershocks are still knocking around. Attraction, aesthetic judgment, small financial calls: none of these are in good order right now. If something charming and unusual crossed your path on Saturday and you said yes to it, you're living inside that yes today.

Underneath sits a new moon in Cancer, exact enough that Moon and Mercury are both combust the Sun. This is not a day for clarity of thought or feeling; both luminaries and the messenger are burnt. Mercury retrograde on top of it. The Sun and Jupiter are in mixed reception across Cancer and Leo, which softens things — Jupiter behaves as if slightly more at home, the Sun borrows some of Jupiter's warmth — but Jupiter himself is under the beams, so the help is real but muffled.

The Moon sits on Pollux at 23° Cancer, in the Well mansion. Pollux is the bolder twin, and the Well is about drawing from a deep source; there's an odd tension between the mansion's patience and the star's appetite for the decisive stroke. I'd trust the Well over Pollux today, given how compromised the Moon otherwise is. Around 22:35 UTC she moves into Leo and out of the Sun's immediate grip.

Saturn in fall in Aries continues to be its own slow problem. The Jupiter-Neptune trine and Jupiter-Uranus sextile are building in the background — I'll take them more seriously next week, when Jupiter is out from under the Sun and can actually deliver something.
