The headline today is Mars applying to sextile Jupiter at a third of a degree — and I want to dwell on that before anyone gets excited, because Mars is in detriment in Taurus and Jupiter, however exalted in Cancer, is receiving a clumsy guest. The aspect is real and harmonious, but the actor delivering the news is working against his own grain. Expect movement that lands well despite itself: effort that succeeds because Jupiter is strong enough to carry Mars's friction, not because Mars has found his stride. Fast Mars and fast Jupiter means this resolves quickly.
Mercury, meanwhile, sits on Procyon at three hundredths of a degree, still within orb of Jupiter and received by him into exaltation. Procyon is the star of the swift gain that arrives before you're ready for it — and with Mercury so cleanly received, the message or offer or piece of information that comes in today carries more weight than its delivery suggests. Take it seriously even if it looks small. Especially if it looks small.
The Sun-Neptune square is separating and I'd let it go, except that it overlaps with Mars square the nodes applying, and together they describe a kind of directional fog around effort — a sense that the work is pointed at something you can't quite see the shape of yet. I don't think this undoes what I said about the Mars-Jupiter sextile. I think it qualifies it: the good outcome is real, the larger trajectory is still unsettled.
Venus trine Saturn, separating, has already done its quiet favor for anyone who needed a commitment honored yesterday.
Moon in Sagittarius in the Heart mansion, in mutual reception with exalted Jupiter — the day's emotional register is generous and a little grandiose, and unusually well-supported for decisions made from the center of a matter rather than its edges.
