Planetary Positions · Noon UTC
The headline today is Mercury closing toward Jupiter in Cancer, and Jupiter exalted there receives Mercury warmly. That reception does most of the work — it takes what could be a scattered, overstuffed conversation and makes it generous instead. Expect news that runs long, proposals dressed in more language than they need, and the rare gift of being heard out by someone whose judgment you actually trust. Mars sextiles the same Jupiter from Taurus, so there's a practical channel: the words can be acted on.
But Mars sits within a quarter degree of Algol, and I don't want to glide past that. Mars is already in detriment in Taurus, working against its grain, and Algol does not improve the situation — it concentrates it. The fast motion of Mars here reads to me less as vigor than as something running hotter than it should. Watch what you do with sharp tools, sharp words, and anything involving the throat or neck (Algol's traditional territory). The sextile to Jupiter is genuinely a softening factor. I'd rather have it than not.
Venus in Leo trining Saturn in Aries is the quieter pleasure of the day. Saturn is in fall, so it isn't the stern Saturn of the textbooks — more like an older person trying to be useful from a position of reduced authority. Venus accepts the offer. Commitments made under this have a chance of holding, modestly.
The Sun squares Neptune while separating from a trine to the North Node, which is the kind of mixed signal I'd ordinarily try to resolve into a theme and won't today. Some confusion about direction is simply present.
Moon in Libra, in the Horn mansion — the mansion of beginnings — and the First Quarter phase agree with each other for once. A reasonable day to start something, provided Mars-Algol isn't holding the pen.
