Planetary Positions · Noon UTC
Venus has just pulled off her opposition to Pluto in Aquarius — three degrees past exact, still smarting. This is the kind of contact that's louder in retrospect than in the moment: a conversation from yesterday or the day before that keeps replaying, a desire you didn't realize was a power transaction until you watched yourself negotiate it. Venus in Leo wants to be admired; Pluto retrograde wants to see what's underneath the wanting. The aperture is closing, but the residue is the day's emotional weather.
Against that, Mercury in Cancer is throwing a clean sextile back to Mars in Taurus — also separating, but only barely, and useful. Mercury and the Moon are in mutual reception by domicile, which I keep finding more interesting than the textbooks suggest: the Moon in Virgo is sorting, and Mercury in Cancer is letting feeling inform the sorting rather than fighting it. Decisions made today will feel both careful and warm, which is rarer than it sounds. Mars moving fast in Taurus is less graceful — detriment is detriment — but with Mercury's nudge it gets something done.
The Sun at the very last degree of Gemini is sitting almost exactly on Betelgeuse, and applying to trine the North Node in Pisces. Betelgeuse is a difficult honor — advancement through a narrow passage — and the Sun is about to ingress Cancer tomorrow, so this is a threshold reading more than a stable one. I'd take the nodal trine seriously: a direction-of-travel confirmation, faint but real.
Saturn in fall in Aries and the background outer-planet trines I'll leave mostly alone today; they're scenery. The Moon spends the day in the Extended Net mansion — banquet weather, oddly, under an otherwise scrupulous Virgo transit. Accept the invitation.
